Prime quality ostrich tail feathers; 11 - 18 inches. Ideal as an inexpensive decorative feather.

Available for purchase in singles, bunched or by the pound in all colours including natural off white, bleached white or dyed.

Ostrich tail feathers are whitish grey in natural colour with some black markings (like femina wing feathers) and readily accept our full range of dyes.

Ostrich tail feathers are often used where an inexpensive, fluffy feather is needed in smaller sizes.

Tail feathers can be bleached white to remove or degrade the greyish tone. Bleaching and degrading of tail feathers is a very aggressive process and causes a heavy loss of quality of the feather. Dyeing of natural off white tail feathers does not cause any further loss of quality.

Defective Ostrich Tail Feathers

Defective ostrich tails can be barred, tipless and sightly damaged. sizes ranges from 11 - 16 inches. Ideal in groups or bunches as a decorative feather.

Available for purchase in bunches or by the pound in selected colours.

All defective feathers are offered for sale "as is" and where we provide dyed colours, these are done over the natural markings - we do not offer defective feathers dyed over an "off white" colour.

We recommend that these defective tail feathers are purchased in bunches or pounds as they are not an ideal decorative feather on an individual basis.

Tails are light brown and white in natural colour and as a result they take dye quite well.
