My local ostrich pellet supplier pelletises at a temp just under 100 deg.C.Could you give a more accurate loss value than in the last newsletter.What percentage of feed value/vitamen loss would occur based on a correct proportional mix to start with.Thanks FRED.

: My local ostrich pellet supplier pelletises at a temp just under 100 deg.C.Could you give a more accurate loss value than in the last newsletter.What percentage of feed value/vitamen loss would occur based on a correct proportional mix to start with.Thanks FRED.The actual loss is unquantifiable.  The natural enzymes are lost at temperatures of 180 degrees F (82 degrees C) and over.  You are paying for the ingredients and it makes no sense to me to suffer any nutrient loss through unecessarily using too high a heat.  It is also worth remembering that when a high heat is used to pellet, the pellet is also harder and less easily digested.
